International Conference on Heavy Vehicles Paris 2008, May 19-22incorporating Heavy Vehicle Transport Technology : HVTT 10 Weigh-In-Motion : ICWIM 5 In May 2008, two international conferences related to Heavy Vehicles were combined – the 10th Heavy Vehicles Transport Technology conference and the 5th International Conference on Weigh in Motion. These conferences are the premier international events in their fields. WIM conferences have been held every three or four years since 1995 in cities around the world: Zűrich, Lisbon, Orlando and Taipei. Heavy Vehicle Transportation Technology conferences have been running since 1986: in Kelowna, Cambridge, Ann Arbor, Maroochydore, Saskatoon, Delft, Johannesburg and Penn State. | In 2008, both conferences were held in Paris for the first time as a single integrated conference on Heavy Vehicles with two parts, and two complementary scientific committees. Common plenary sessions will welcome keynote papers, while each part (ICWIM5 and HVTT 10) will run in parallel sessions. | | | The combined conference addressed the broad range of scientific and technical issues related to heavy vehicles, surface transport technology, safety and weight measurement systems. It will provide access to current research, best practice, and related policy issues. It is a multi-disciplinary, inter-agency supported event, which will be completed by an industrial exhibition displaying equipments and technologies. Further details can be found at their web site.
