SiWIMD
contains several tools for evaluating and presenting results of the
measurements. It:
 | counts single, double, triple and other axles, |
 | calculates ESAL values for single, double and
triple axles, |
 | calculates overloading for gross weights,
single, double and triple axles, |
 | calculates histograms of single, double and
triple axles, |
 | calculates histograms of gross vehicle weights based on
vehicle category, |
 | calculates time histograms based on vehicle category, |
 | simulates expected maximum load effects on short span bridges
(optional). |
Calculation of ESAL values and overloading
Overloading module applies specified axle loads limits for gross
weights as well as for single, double and triple axles and calculates total
loading and overloading for all vehicles
(axles) in the database. Calculation is done for 2 parameters:
 | number of vehicles and axles respectively |
 | ESAL (Equivalent Single Axle Loads) |
Overloading is presented as the difference
between the cumulative ESAL value of all overloaded axles and the same axles at their legal limit
loads (for example, overloading of a 19,4 ton axle is calculated as the
difference between the ESAL value of a 19,4 ton axle and a legally loaded 18,0 ton
axle)
SiWIMD
also calculates relative overloading of all vehicles in the
database (gross weights and axle spacings).

Histograms of single, double and triple axles
Overloading module also calculates histograms of single, double and
triple axles, for individual days or in total. Results can be exported into a
text file or pasted directly into MS Excel (data) or any other program (picture).

Gross weight histograms
Histogram module calculates histograms of gross weights for
individual
categories of vehicles, as specified in Calculate histograms window.
Results can be exported into a text file or pasted directly into MS Excel (data) or
any other program (picture).

Time histograms
Histogram module also calculates histograms of gross weights for
individual categories of vehicles, as specified in Calculate histograms
window, as a function of hours during a day. Results can be exported into a text
file or pasted directly to MS Excel (data) or any other program (picture).

Expected maximum traffic loading on bridges
Bridge module (optional) calculates the expected maximum load effects of traffic on
short and medium span bridges (with spans below 50 meters, where governing load
case is due to 2 vehicles positioned side by side on the bridge). Results can be
exported into a text file or pasted directly into MS Excel (data) or any other
program (picture).
